How to withdraw from Sensible

The Sensible team is being acquired by Coinbase. Withdraw funds by Oct 10 – here's how.

September 9, 2025

We built Sensible to help everyday people get more from their crypto. Now, Sensible’s founding team is being acquired by Coinbase to bring the utility of crypto to a bigger audience.

All funds must be withdrawn by October 10, 2025. This guide walks you through the withdrawal process step by step. Read carefully and double-check details to ensure your funds transfer safely.

#Step 1: Get a Receive Address

From your exchange or wallet (eg Coinbase, Robinhood, Revolut, Gemini, Kraken, hardware wallet):

  • Look for Transfer / Receive / Receive Crypto
  • Choose the currency (BTC or ETH) you want to receive
  • Take note of what blockchain (sometimes called network) your exchange supports (examples could include Ethereum, Bitcoin, Base, Arbitrum, etc)
  • Copy the receive address
  • ⚠️ Important: BTC and ETH addresses are usually different. Double check you are using the correct one. If you have both ETH and BTC on Sensible, you will need to do each process separately.

👉 On Sensible, you can withdraw to:

  • Bitcoin blockchain (BTC)
  • Ethereum blockchain (ETH)
  • Base blockchain (ETH and BTC, lower fees but not supported by all exchanges)

#Step 2: Withdraw from Sensible

Start by getting an address to receive crypto from your exchange (eg Coinbase, Robinhood, Gemini, Kraken, a hardware wallet). Please note that BTC and ETH addresses are different in most cases. Look for an option called "Transfer", "Receive", "Transfer Crypto", or similar. Select a cryptocurrency to receive (BTC or ETH), and a network to receive it on, if applicable. You will need to pay close attention to these critical details -- currency and network -- or else you could permanently lose funds. On Sensible, we allow you to withdraw to the original blockchain (Ethereum blockchain or Bitcoin blockchain) as well as on a lower-fee blockchain called Base, which is convenient but not supported by all exchanges.

Once you have this address:

  1. Log in to your Sensible account, and hit "Withdraw"
  2. Select a currency to withdraw (BTC or ETH) and a network to withdraw it to (Base, Ethereum, or Bitcoin).
  3. Enter the receive address from above.
  4. Make sure all three critical details -- currency, network, and address -- are an exact match with the step above. If you make a mistake, you could permanently lose funds.

#⚠️ Critical Warnings

  • The currency, network, and address must all match exactly.
  • If you enter the wrong details, your funds may be permanently lost.
  • Not all exchanges support the Base blockchain (Coinbase does). If unsure, stick with Ethereum or Bitcoin.
  • Sensible charges no withdrawal fees, but fees such as blockchain network or asset conversion fees may be charged by third-party infrastructure providers and will be estimated for you during the process.
